A JOURNEY BEHIND THE LENS
Video storytelling is a powerful medium that combines visual and auditory elements to convey narratives, evoke emotion, and engage audiences. this method enhances my understanding of various elements, from scriptwriting and cinematography to editing and soundtrack. My recent exploration into video storytelling has been a rollercoaster of learning, challenges, and unexpected joy.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN
I learned that effective video storytelling hinges on a clear narrative structure. Understanding these three elements such as planning the work, scripting and editing, and analyzed audio track is crucial for crafting compelling stories. I also grasped the importance of visual composition, such using camera angle shot, motion, editing speed, and more to create video storytelling.
WHAT WAS HARDER THAN YOU THOUGHT
The most complicate aspect was audio quality. I understand the importance of clear audio quality, crisp sound, but I think dealing with background noise, inconsistent levels, and finding the right music seem to be more challenging than anticipated. It required more learning about different recording techniques, and audio editing software.
WHAT WAS EASIER
What surprised me was how relatively easy to grasp the basics of video editing. I was not sure about what software to used but when I started assembling clips, adding basic transitions, it became easier and color were match and conveyed deeper understanding of the scenes and make it easier to learned.
WHAT DROVE YOU CREASY/WHY
what drove me crazy was some technical issues and video format. Achieving a consistent look and feel across different shots required a deep understanding of shooting, cutting and advanced editing techniques. The subtle nuances of color and their impact on mood and tone drove me crazy at times.
WHAT DID YOU ENJOY
Despite the challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting the idea and how his video storytelling offered a unique sense of accomplishment. The video style and story were instructive and techniques to enhance the narrative. I also enjoy the creative process of piecing together different shots and adding music to tell story.
